Health Benefits:

Sanjivani Rice is made with special care to ensure each grain of rice is fluffy & well cooked. Adding Indian spice helps to reduce the flatulence effect of the rice.

Ingredients:

  • Rice -1 cup

Spices: 

  • Cloves -1-2 pieces

Liquids:

  • Water -2 cups
  • Ghee / Coconut oil / Avocado Oil / other cooking oil-1 heaped teaspoon or 1 tablespoon when melted

Cooking Instructions :

  1. Rinse 1 cup of rice and soak it for 10 minutes. Rinse again in a strainer and transfer it in a stainless-steel container that can be used for steaming.
  2. Add 2 cups of water, 1-2 cloves and Coconut oil/Ghee/other oil as mentioned above, to the rice.
  3. Steam the rice for 5-10 minutes. There is no need to cook rice under pressure. Remove the whistle and cover the whistle connection with a small stainless-steel bowl.  Sometimes the rice will cook even after the stove is turned off if there is enough steam left.
  4. Serve it with Dal/Yogurt soup/any kind of beans with gravy-e.g., Rajma or Mung beans/any kind of vegetable with gravy/yogurt or even milk.

Note:

  • For making rice mushy, add extra ½ to 1 cup of water
  • If using brown rice, then soak the rice for 10 minutes and steam them for 15-20 minutes or cook under pressure for 10 minutes.
