Sanjivani Kanji is an easy and quick recipe to make the delicious Sago Porridge popularly known as Sabudana Kanji. It is filling and energy boosting drink for patients with acute illness, diarrhea or weakness. It is also for babies above 6 months because of its taste and health benefits.
Ingredients:
- Sabudana/Sago/Tapioca-½ cup
- Sugar/Sweetener of your choice-3 teaspoons (more as desired)
Liquids:
- Milk -2 cups
- Water-2 cups
Instructions :
- Rinse and soak sabudana in water for 30 minutes. Rinse again and put it aside.
- Take milk in the pan and heat it on the medium flame.
- Add soaked sabudana and cook it for about 5 minutes. Once cooked, the sabudana looks transparent and light.
- Add sugar or sweetener and stir continuously until the milk comes to a boil.
- Once the milk is thickened, put off the flame.
- Let the temperature come down from hot to warm and then serve it fresh in a mug or a bowl.
Note :
To make kanji for babies, grind the soaked sabudana coarsely and follow the recipe as above.
